Another FD wrecked (not totalled)

Last night my friend, Scott, and I were hanging out. I had my CYM with me and he had his MB we decided to take his car and look for some nice curvy roads. We drive around town and find nothing that piqued our interests so we hit main street and went north of town. there were some very nice curves and hills: the kind of road a 7 was made for. We make it to some bunk *** town and pull over and take a cigarette break and he says he's getting tired (about 3:45am) and he would prefer it if i drove back to town, i had no problem with it since i'm used to driving a 7. we finish our cigarettes and get in the car and turn around, we make it to the edge of town, we could see the "Welcome to Jonesboro" sign and right then Scott yells "OOOHHHH!!!!!!" and I see a deer running right in front of the car. I was doing about 45 (just slowed down from about 70 on the curves and hills because we were getting into town) and hit the ****** dead on. The deer goes flying and the car dies because out of reaction to brake so quickly i didnt even bother clutching. i start the car up, pull to the side of the road and turn the flashers on and inspect the car. the lip of the hood was rippled, the bumper was dented in, the mazda symbol flew off and the deer knocked the passenger headlight completely off. we go find the deer. it's good and dead so i drag it to the side of the road. 7 pt buck (it's in my freezer now ) find the mazda symbol off the bumper and when my frat bro, Kevin, gets there to pick the deer up we part and scott goes home.

At least the car is easily repairable.... better a deer than another car or a child.

EDIT: Deer: 0, RX-7: 1

yeah, i actually thought about posting it in the kills section

two ironic things happened before the wreck

Ironic thing 1: I say to Scott, "I'm surprized we haven't seen any deer tonight."

Ironic thing 2: Scott says to me, "The 3rd gens really aren't known for having the best headlights, are they?"

I hate deer.

I fear hitting one when I am driving late at night in the FD. Glad that you hit it dead on and didn't sweve like some stupid people do and hit a tree/telephone pole.

And if anyone says this is because of immature FD drivers who dont know how to drive etc, STFU!

Glad youre alright.. i really hate deer

I live in Michigan AKA deer capitol, and I fear a cockpit entry the most. The hood is so low I can see it coming right in the car. Sounds like you need some new RE headlights and a 99 front...

^ not me, Scott, but yeah, i'm trying to talk him into a CF knightsports hood and a 99 spec front end.... it's still very drivable, though. it's like he took out the headlight and dropped a 5lb weight on the hood-bumper area. we got lucky..... anybody want the deer's head of neck?

Personally I dont think CYM looks good with black wheels... but the TE37s are always a good choice, as long as you dont mind getting the most overplayed (and copied) wheels available

holy crap. its lucky that there was not more damage. i keep thinking of that crazy deer photo thru the guys windsheild going in to the passenger seat, 1/2 thru the windsheild. i would not even expect to see a deer then again im in hawaii. we do have wild boar though which i occationaly see up tantlus but nothing the size of a deer.

how big is a 7pt deer anyways? is that like a full grown one?
