annoying electrical problem

I recently moved and had my car in the garage for about a month with the negative on the battery and the positive off i guess i forgot to removed the negative. when i connected the battery everything seemed fine after about 30 min of driving the horn started going off for no reason and wouldn't stop until i disconnected the horns of course. then shortly after that the hazard lights came on and now they wont shut off. i thought it may be the battery but its fully charged and brand new. I know virtually nil when it comes to electrical on my car so any help with detail directions would be excellent. im hoping this is something that is common. thanks..

It appears the theft deterrent system detected an anomalous condition when the battery was reconnected and the ign was turned on. A reset to the theft protection system needs to be done. With the battery connected, lock then unlock the driver's door with the ign. key. All other alarm points must be closed; rear hatch, hood, and pass. door when you lock and unlock the driver's door. Monitor the theft deterrent light on the console; it should light for about 10 seconds then beep and start a slow flash when the car is locked then unlock; should fix the issue.
