annoying cd player removal
Its about that time i want to remove my cd player.....i took out some bent up coat hangers with little direction.. and it didnt go well, ive heard many horror stories about how "fun" it is to take out..anyone have a write-up or just an idea of how to go about it?

get right tool
Go to a local small stereo installation shop and ask to borrow the "tools" to remove the player. It takes all of 5 seconds with the right tools. You have to remove the small side plastic pieces from the CD player....I think the player may be attached in the back with a screw and bracket..not sure
I have one for sale.

I did the bent coat hanger deal and it came out very easily. The trick is you have to splay the hangers outward so they push the bracket inside into the body of the head unit. Put the prongs in about 2", then bend them outwards, so the left set bends to the left and the right set bends to the right. I miraculously managed everything with two hands, but a 3rd hand to pull the head unit while you work the brackets would be helpful.
