Angry Annoying Air Pump Sound

Hey guys,

I reinstalled the air pump since the car fails the emmision test and hooked up the inlet connection to the HKS Racing Suction Intake.

The problem now is I hear this low humming sound from the air pump everytime I accelerate. Any ideas how I can get rid of this sound?

Thanks.

You can unplug the electrical connection to the air pump while your not using it. Although that might not be a good idea if you are running a stock catalytic converter.

You learn to love it hehe... actually some people have used baffles to try to minimize that air pump sound.

I remember that sound....I installed a MP and unplugged it...Do the same and just put your stock cat back on when you go for emission testing.

When I had my air pump, I attached a lawn mower muffler to the end of the pipe. Worked like a charm! (course, I've since removed the air pump, which works even better )

Yeah, without the air pump and with an upgraded pulley, the car sounds like you're playing Gran Turismo RX-7. Now it sounds like a boat...

Lawn mower muffler eh, hmm. Thanks guys.
