Am i stupid? fuel pressure problem.
OK, i am asking you guys to think with me.
here is the situation, i am repairing someone's FD that doesn't start so i started by looking at the fuel pressure. The guy installed a fuel system, 1600, fpr, walbro, etc. Car never ran since that time.
now i check the fuel pressure and the pressure is at 40. i try to raise it to see if it works and it won't go past 40 PSI.
FPR you say? well i tried an other one and it still does the same thing. Fuel pump? installed a Denso (supra) fuel pump and still same problem.
Now i am thinking fuel filter. But the more i think about it, the more the fuel filter can't seem to be the problem. I tried to completly pinch the feed hose that goes to the primary injectors (fuel pressure gauge installed right before) and still, pressure won't go up more than 40 PSI. If the fuel filter was clogged, pressure would still build, slower i guess but it would still go higher right?
am i thinking right? anyone else has an idea?
oh and please just don't say, change the filter, no big deal... Well yes it is a big deal because lines are rusted out and i am afraid of breaking one. (car went in snow couple of years...)
thanks for anything you can share.

40psi is plenty
1600cc secondaries I assume.
That increased fuel pressure over stock would cause more fuel than normal on start ups. How are you controlling the fuel?
I would either set your fuel pressure to stock or pull some fuel out.
I assume you are getting fuel to engine.

yeah but the problem is that it is not reacting to the vacuum port. if i try to put some pressure in it, fuel pressure won't raise.
oh and i tried to crank the engine and it is losing fuel pressure slowly.
i guess i'll take my chance at changing the filter and see what happens.
