Aluminum Side Housings

Has anyone tried using the aluminum side housings when rebuilding their FD?
it looks like you could save close to 50 lbs using them...
any thoughts?

You saw the price on those, right? If i had the cash I would definitely go for them. I think that would be perfect for the car especially for dissipating heat and cooling, and possibly reduce the chance of O-ring failure. I am not sure how it would handle high hp's, but I know that Racing Beat has used them in their "special" cars so they must know something.

They don't have all three in aluminum. Do a search cause there was a thread a couple months ago. Magnus called them and I think they didn't have the front plate or something.

Tyson is right, the other thread has all the info and pics. BTW if you do go for these, be prepaired to spend that money more than once, aluminum side housings arent as durable as the steel ones, when they get scored i think lapping is outta the question, it's time for new side housings $$$$$$
