Although I've never had a serious problem with the stock one, the aluminum one will obviously be stronger and not prone to cracking/splitting. Will look better and should seal to the motor better.

My original idea for it was just for looks. Although I doubt that the OEM one ever fails too often, but I'm sure the ALuminum would be more resistant to cracking.
