Hey,

I'am about to purchase a 9.5lb alum fly in the next couple of days. I was wanting the rx7store's racingbeat fly for 450 bucks. Sr motorsports has there own one for 429 bucks. Does the Sr motorsports alum fly come with the counterwieght already or do I have to purchase it seperatly(it's 100 bucks). So far I have had good dealings with Jason but others haven't. I have heard SR motorsports was horrible also. I just wanted to make sure I'am not getting ripped and actually recieve a flywheel from SR before I send them my money.

Sorry but the search won't allow for SR to be searched. Searched other words but got nothing usefull.

I ordered the package ACT S/S clutch + RB 9.5lb flywheel from Jason and it comes with everything. (Well, Jason forgot the pilot bearing seal .. but I'm not going to gripe over $2. "I want my two dollars!") My understanding is that the SR Motorsports flywheel does come with everything you need, including the counterweight. But, hey, all you gotta do is call them up and ask.

Jason is a great guy but you might want to get the RB flywheel directly from RB. It comes with the counterweight, instructions, etc. when you get it from them.

Jason is a great guy but price is the deciding factor. So far...

Racingbeat = $455.00
RX7Store = $450.00
SR Motorsports = $429.00

So far it looks like SR Motorsports can give a better price. I'am sure their flywheel is exactly replicated from the RB fly with just his name on it.

The Racing Beat flywheel isn't threaded, so you have to use the nuts on the back of the bolts to attach the pressure plate. It's not a huge deal, but it can be a pain.

I believe the SR flywheel has the holes on the flywheel threaded so you just bolt up.

I got the clutch/flywheel combo from Jason. It comes with everything needed to install except for the extra parts that the guys at Car Version broke trying to install it. I believe I got charged for an extra pilot bearing after they broke the one that came in the kit. The kit came with the flywheel, counterweight, pressure plate, clutch disc, pilot bearing, throw out bearing, and a clutch removal tool.

Here's another factor - support. RB direct gives great support. Others may be great, can't comment since I've never bought such a part from them.

You'll have to buy a Mazda pilot and throw-out bearing with the RB flywheel...

I have a brand spanking new ACT S/S clutch at home with all the goodies to install it, pilot and throwout bearing included. I just ordered it from the RX7 store because I called SR motorsports and they said the counterbalance doesn't come with it, only if you buy the clutch kit alos. F**k that, it's an extra 100 bucks. Off goes my hard earned money towards Jason.

SR is pretty good, I ordered their package with the clutch and flywheel. When I got the package everything was in it *except* the counterweight.. I was like WTF!? So there went my appointment for that week on the install. So I called them and they were nice about it, but they were confused because the shipment weight was exactly what it should have been w/counterweight. So I go home, weigh the package and it is exactly 4lbs lighter (or whatever the counterweight weighs) than it said on the UPS label. Hmm.. shady, they weighed it and then someone took the counterweight out of the box before shipment. In any event they sent me the counterweight with no problem.

i got the package from jason and everything works great I suggest that everyone gets that package because it rocks. The only issue I had is that you need to get ups to ship because there is a thief that works at fedex who stole my flywheel and so I had to wait two weeks for it so screw fedex and get it shipped through ups. Also if your gonna order it be prepared to wait for some odd reason jason never has the flywheel in stock and so you will have to wait a little while for the parts so be patient.

I ordered the Alum Flywheel and ACT Street/Strip clutch package from SR Motorsports and was very happy. Everything comes with it and was shipped very promptly. Was only $918 too. RX-7 Store was more expensive. The best thing is that SR Motorsports will rent out the pilot bearing puller with your order for only $15. Well worth the money!

You are absolutely correct sir. I have worked with both flywheels. I have the SR on my car and helped spyfish pull his motor a while back and he had the RB. They are both good FWs, but I would go with the SR.
