Talking Aluminum Door Sills

So I decided to buy some used and beatup door sills to try an idea my buddy and I talked about. I don't like the aluminum look on my MB cause it breaks up the door jam/interior to much so I decided to sand them, hammer out the dents and paint them black.
I think they came out great and match the interior much better....
Just wanted to share to give others an idea of what they can do to their sills...

Looks awesome. I really like it. I hope it won't scratch too easily.

I will post pics once there installed.
I am going to use Velcro so I don't have any extra holes in the chassis.

THANKS for the compliments...

Looking good!! I had the same thought as you. Sanded, primered, painted, clear coated, velcroed...here's mine I just completed a couple of weeks ago. Not PERFECT but good enough for now...

I thought about painting the RX-7 in green to match the car but my buddy, Papsmagu on the forum, suggested to leave it in GOLD to match my Bronze wheels...

I am gonna try to mount them tomorrow. The 7 is in the garage, between the heat and lack of room to work on the car, it makes it a little difficult..

That looks great. Its hard to tell, is the "RX-7" part still that bronze or did you sand it to silver?

That "bronze" is really more like gold and its just a adhesive film. It looks to me that it was removed.

Oh YES... You are definitly an inspiration..

"That looks great. Its hard to tell, is the "RX-7" part still that bronze or did you sand it to silver? "

I left it in the "GOLD/BRONZE" color it comes in to match my wheels. I taped it off prior to sanding and painting the sills.
