alum. fuel filter....worth it or not?

I'm looking to get a new fuel filter soon and I came across the billet aluminum one at the RX-7 store and started to wonder if it is any better than a plain old oem one. I'm thinking that it won't make much of a difference, but maybe someone could prove me wrong. Anybody know of any advantage in buying this billet aluminum filter?

I have the K&N and like it, but it needs to be cleaned fairly often

Ok, none of that really helps me, but if an aluminum K&N one needs to be cleaned often ??, then I'll just stick with an oem fuel filter.

I found just the Filter with 5/16" barbs for only $48.99 at Jegs. Part number 81-0312

I dont think cleaning would be that hard... just pull it off hose it down and pop it back on. Easier than changing your oil.

you have to depressurize the fuel system before hand, and prime the system afterwards, but I still don't see it as being very hard. I would rather clean an inline K&N mounted in the engine compartment 5 times, than replace the stock fuel filter once..

garfinkle put his filter on the rear subframe above the rear dif ,easy to replace , drilled two bolt holes,used screw in fittings,upgraded fuel line,stock filter mounting fixture

I used the Purolator F54803 fuel filter. It is a direct replacement for the stock fuel filter and it cost $16.99 at Parts America.
