Alternator housing is stuck
Hey guys, so I followed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cCWS08QxeI
this video to take apart my alternator to polish it. I can't take the front plate off for some reason. In the video it's just held on by the 4 screw/bolts which I took off already. I tried using a mallet to lightly tap it out, but that didn't work either.
Here are some pictures of where it's stuck at.

The front cover of mine slipped off no problem. The cover was more stuck to the stator than the shaft.
It appears that the shaft is stuck on the inner race of the bearing. Have you squirted a bit of something such as Liquid Wrench around the shaft to free it up? I would support the aluminum housing letting the shaft/rotor dangle free, thread the pulley nut partway onto the shaft so that you're hammering on the nut and not the end of the shaft. Then *GENTLY* tap on the nut with something like a rubber mallet. If you don't have a rubber mallet, use a wooden block. If you don't have a wooden block, put the pulley nut on the shaft and tap on the nut. You don't want to mushroom the end of the shaft. Then it'll never clear the bearing.
