anyone care to explain the steps of disassembling the alternator (for polishing/cleaning)
i tried, but the damn thing got the best of me

where did you get stuck...
did you already get his far?
- remove the big pully bolt and pully
- remove the 4 bolts that hold the shell together
- carefully pull the front shell away from the rest
let me know if you got this far, or where you got stuck

okay, maybe that's it, pull the big pully bolt? how did you hold the pulley still? with it on the car?
i was thinking there might be another bolt on the back casing, and that i wasn't doing something right

ahh yes, the big pulley bolt...i had to use a impact wrench to get it off
if you dont have an impact wrench, take the alternator to a local shop (tires plus, or whatever) and they will spin it right off with one of there high power impact wrenches
