Alternate replacement oil cooler retaining clips

Anyone try Dorman 800-801, 5/8" retaining clips?
I'm doing an r1 dual oil cooler install and got some from local parts store for $11. To my surprise they look like they fit correctly.

Test fit and alignment
The pack of clips in various sizes. There's 4 of each size.

Nice find! They look just like the originals. I don't see any reason why they would not work if they fit in there snugly like the originals.

The coating on them is nice too.

Nice find. The OEM clips are expensive!

Yea, I'm pumped because if i had to spend $200 on new fittings i would've just gone with bigger aftermarket kit and i don't really care for custom parts in the long run.

Ok so Dorman 800-801 is the part number for a box of assorted sizes. It has 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" clips, and you only get (4) of each. If you have dual oil coolers and are replacing all of your clips, you need (6).
The Dorman part number for a box of (20) 5/8" clips is 801-452. I guess it never hurts to have spares.

Dorman Products 5/8 In. Transmission Connector Retaining Clips

Problem:
I ordered clips from Amazon weeks ago, but I didn't buy Dorman; I bought some "whatever" brand that Amazon sells because they were cheap and came with a dozen of each size. Long story short, the largest clips, which should be the 5/8" don't fit. They are visibly smaller than the OEM clips, even taking into account that my OEM ones are old and stretched out. So I'm ordering actual Dorman clips because maybe they're different?

If the next order arrives and the clips are still too small, I have located a 3/4" clip out of some LS engine, but those are curiously expensive.

I picked up a set of clips last month from O'Reilly Auto Parts.
They had them hanging at the very bottom in one of the random clip and **** aisle.

Ok, I found what looks to be the exact size as the OEM clips from only one supplier so far: FFAC Fittings Genuine OEM Retention Clips
The part number is FFAC34CLIPS.

So it looks like OEM is actually 3/4", and Dorman is 5/8". They both "fit" on the connector, the OEM one feeling loose until the male end is clipped in, and the Dorman fits but is also stretched out and tight. Both of them appear to secure the male end from popping out. I ultimately went with the FFAC ones and sent the Dorman box back. They probably both work, but I decided not to second guess Mazda.

I just tried this exact part number. They don’t fit great and I had an oil line pop off at the cooler.
