Yeah, I'm one of those idiots that when I clean my car I feel like it's faster. I mean, I know it's stupid and that it can't be true, but it really feels like it's faster. I figure it's the placebo effect at work.

nah, these cars just have their own quirky personality....my car feels ***** to the wall fast one day and slow the next, I can't figure it out for the life of me, but cool weather definitely helps

Yeah, I think it's mostly ambient temperature too, but I often wonder how the ECU is programmed and within what parameters and under what conditions it allows the engine to produce more power. I don't know enough to say, but most of us have noticed that our cars seem to produce more power at certain times for no apparent reason. I still think the ECU may know when the car is clean. ;-)

A clean car has less drag, so of course its faster!!!
Cold air helps turbo cars as well.

I've got coilovers so I can't say anything about lowering springs.

i got racing beat springs, no problems, the problems are with my rims/tires in the back. I rub ocassionally and with 2 or more people in my car i rub all the time, but its rare to have more than 2 people in the car.

ALL models of FDs came with a rear strut brace. It's the bar above the plastic divider panel.
