all kinds of electrical issues

ok, so I'm almost done rebuilding my project car and I was going through all the electrical stuff last night. I found that the defrost light did not come on after pushing the switch on the console. In addition, I couldn't get the rear wiper or washer to come on. I checked under the dash and the rear wiper fuse is still good. I doubt that the washer and wiper motors are both bad so that leaves the wiring and the column mounted switches. Any ideas, anything I'm missing? Any good methods of checking this stuff? Oh yeah, and this security light came on and I have no idea how to get it to go off. Thanks

Isn't there a fuse in the back for the wiper as well? As for the defrost light.....does the defroster work, but not the light?

is there a fuse in the back too? that would be great if that is all it is. I had a rather interesting time doing some wiring the other day and managed to blow about five fuses but I checked all the ones in the drivers dash. where abouts is the fuse located?
