Alarm sometimes goes off when I open the trunk

This is weird, but sometimes the factory alarm goes off when I open the trunk with my key before I unlock the door(s). Has anyone ever run into this problem? If so, how can I remedy this?

Mine does that too... The alarm doesnt actually go off UNTIL you lift the hatch up, correct? I think it has somehting to do with where if the trunk is unlocked but the hatch doesnt move out of the sensor's way (like immediately) then alarm will trip when you move it.

I mean... it's not very useful and kinda outdated. You can always disable it i guess--I've seen some writeups on it.

I think its because the electronic part of the alarm associated with the turning of the key get corroded so the computer doesnt get the memo that you unlocked the trunk and its ok to open it now.

Theres a switch on the key assembly, if you turn it back before you open the hatch then the alarm still thinks everything is locked up and when you lift it it goes off, to confirm this leave the key in and in the turned (unlocked position) and lift the hatch, if it doesn't go of then the problem is due to the fact the hatch doesn't move when it's unlocked.
