I don't remember beeping when I removed my air bag/steering wheel. The air bag light did come on. To get rid of that I could either insert a straight jumper wire between the two connectors that used to connect to the airbag or, if the connector wire harness was removed at the connectors under the steering column, insert a 1 ohm resistor into the same two wire connectors.

that should make the system "sense" the presence of an airbag.

Ok, if you had the clockspring removed you will need a 1 ohm resistor placed across the connector terminals under the steering column. The terminals are those that the air bag used to connect to. When I did mine, I did not have a 1 ohm resistor. I simply used an about 8" length of welding wire that came close to being 1 ohm. I cut off the connector as I saw no real good way to attach my wires to it and installed a pair of spade type connectors on each wire. I wrapped the wire in heat shrink and coiled it up under the steering column cover.

Yeah, just find and unplug the airbag computer. Follow the beeping sound .
