IIRC 9 times means that one of the front impact sensors is either broken or no longer attached to the ABS unit. If your car is lowered check the integrity of the wiring in the front passenger side wheel well (in runs straight over the top). On my car, the tire slowly ate through the plastic and destroyed the wiring behind it causing the 9 blink code. The different codes have been posted so search for those bad boys!

I disconnected my passenger side airbag so that my son could ride in the car without worrying that the airbag would go off.
I just disconnected the negative battery cable and unbolted the passenger airbag. I slid the bag out and unplugged it. After it was unplugged, I reinstalled the airbag. Now it is there, but disabled. My light on the dash flashes too, but I put a peice of black electrical tape over it so you can't see it.
There is apparently a resistor you can put in line to stop the flashing, but I didn't want to get that involved.
I would imagine that disabling the steering wheel airbag would be just as easy.
