Air to WATER intercooler
A neighbor of mine just bought a 1999 Lotus Esprit (off EBay). I was over there looking at it this evening and he tells me it comes stock with dual air to water intercoolers. Perhaps a Lotus internet club could provide ideas.
Actually, the freon coils is routed through a water reservoir and cools the water that is pumped through the intercooler. By using water/coolant mixture you can achieve sub zero (celcius) fluid transfer to the intercooler, and thereby lowering charged air to below ambient temp.
I an currently fabricating one from the PWR tubular air to liquid IC.

OK i want this thread alive.
I want to try those typhoon truck core for my FD.
I know any thing would be better than stock.
but I can't find any numbers for this A/L IC.
is it even worth it?
those trucks are V6 and 280 HP from stock I think.
and semms like some of them putting high HP with those ICs.

Hey just got my FD and Steve was helping me out with putting the intake and couple other things and he mentioned I had an air to water intercooler. I was thinking to myself...that's what that huge aluminum tank in my trunk is
The car doesn't run yet, but hopefully will soon. I'll let you know how the air to water intercooler is. Don't know the details of the set up yet, but it looks like a tank and pump in the trunk. Will keep you updated with this.
