Air recirc. light works only when lights off
The light on the air recirulation button illuminates when activated, but when I turn the lights on (either parking or headlights), the it goes off. Air still recirculates fine. Pushing it doesn't make it come back on, only by turning the lights off will make it illuminate. All the other dash lights work fine. Weird, because AFAIK the recirc lite is not tied into the dash lites at all (it doesn't dim). Anyone have any ideas?

Another forum member, HeatTreated, is having a similar problem.
The dash light dimmer does not control this indicator light, but the RECirculate light is suppose to dim when the headlight switch is turned to its first position (and all other positions). Clearly there is some electrical tie-in to the headlight switch, but the 93 factory manual wiring schematics don't even show the switch. I assume it must be wired in to the Heater Control Unit, but how and where? Maybe someone with the electrical schematics from a later manual can help you out by posting the page(s) involved.
Were you doing ANY electrical modifications or repairs at the time this light quit working, or maybe just before?

Thanks for your reply, FDJunkie, that is good information. I recently got the car and just noticed this last night. The car did had an alarm (Clifford) so the dash harness is no virgin. All the splices I have found are by the driver's dead pedal.
That's interesting that it is supposed to dim w/ the lights. Perhaps there are two separate bulbs (bright & dim) and the dim one is out? It is so small that I think this is unlikely (plus that is too easy, right?).
If not that, then the signal during lights-on must be interrupted somehow.

Yes, My re-circulation light was fine until I sparked a wire, I believed to be the fan mod wire to ground. It was not the right wire and I noticed the re-circulation light no longer came on. But when I touched the wires together again (even though I shouldnt have) the light stayed on all the time! So I have yet to dig in and figure it out. My re-circulation works fine too. I think someone may have touched a wire to something it shouldnt have when they did your alarm.. If you figure out how to correct this let me know. -thanks for the heads up FDJunkie
