Question Air pump straight to cat?

Is it safe to run a hose straight from the airpump to the cat to bypass all the other things in the ACV? There are alot of posts about air pumps but I didn't see anything that addressed this.

Thanks

you could also get an LS1 electric airpump and mount it somewhere else!

Ok one more question then. Is it safe to run the airpump through the ACV and not have the relief or switching solenoid operatable? (not sure that's a word). Looking at the secondary air system diagram in the manual it seems like air can always get to the cat but the path it must take is a little on the small side. Could this cause the airpump to end up failing prematurely? Its certainly an easier solution for me since that's how its running now.

Let me know your thoughs please.

Thanks
