Air pump removal, do I need to plug pipes?

I still have ACV and eveything hooked up to it. I have PFC as well. When I remove the airpump should I plug up the 2 holes where the pipes were? I tried it and car idles like ****, took the lower one off, idle became better but low vac compared to before with Air pump.

What is the deal? shoudl I remove ACV, plug both holes, etc?

Thanks

The tube that comes up around in the back next to the upper intake manifold needs to be plugged because it lets exhaust out through it... not sure about the other one I forgot

you mean the aipump exhaust one. I don't think that will come on, but I have it pluggged now. What about the intake, I guess it is sucking in air for exhaust. if I plug it idle sucks.

What dod all you guys do who still have ACV? or does eveyon get rid of ACV?

i was just thinking this same question last night. i have had my air pump removed for about 2 years now, i was helpping a friend instal a fd motor into a 91 vert last night and was having a problem with it breaking up. we were playing with the timing, advancing it, and i noticed exhaust leaking out of the "pipes". i havent tried to plug them up yet, but will let you know the outcome. i felt this may be a reason for the turbos to not spool up as quickly as they may be able to due to some of the exhaust leaking from here. at idle, they do not suck in any air though, i tried to spray carb cleaner near them, and they do not suck it in, so i dont know why that would effect your idle. i am not running the pfc, so i dont know anything about that, or how that would be different. i will keep you posted on my outcome of trial and error. please do the same for me.

i pluged the bottom one up on my fd last night. if anything else, it made it quieter. it "feels" better under load, but that could just be in my head. also, it did not change my idle at all from what i can tell.
on the other motor in the 91 vert, we just made a blockoff plateon the lower intake man., and idle did not change either.
