Air pump questions!

Hi Guys,

I was thinking of getting rid of my Air Pump like many others have done, but just wanted to know what it does beforehand and if it is ok to get rid of it?

What does it do?
What are the consequences of deleting it?

Thanks,
George

Hey George,

The airpump removes the exhaust fume build up from the cat on idle. If you have decatted the car then there's no real need for it. If you still have your cat then i'd suggest removing it if your removing the airpump. All you need is pulleys, shorter belt and blanking plates. You can get all the parts (if you've not already got them) from http://www.mazdarotaryparts.com/. They are very good and ship from England to Ireland pretty quick!

I dont know what the emission laws are like in Ireland, but if you can remove the cat without hassle then do it!

Very nice car btw, you have very good taste in bodykits..... not that im biased towards vertex or anything!!
