Air pump pully frozen...
Air pump pully frozen...
So....I just get ready to list my 93 for sale (not the best car for toting a 2 year old) and the belt snaps. I looked at the diagrams and the pulleys...seems the air pump pulley seized.
Any easy fixes for this? Not really interested in pulley conversion or air pump removal since I don't plan to keep the car but I also don't want to screw a buyer by just putting a belt on that I know won't last.

Did a little better search on the subject :

How do you "disable" the air pump so the pulley will spin freely???

shorter belt. check the FAQ thread for belt sizes.
you can find air pumps used here pretty easily in the Parts for Sale section.
not running the air pump will probably affect idle quality though so you might just want to source a used one and the correct size stock belt.

You can try disconnecting the electrical connection.
However, since you are selling it the best thing would be to buy a working used one. You can usually find them for less than $50 (and sometimes people just give them away). If you don't see any for sale, PM "Fritz Flynn" as he typically has some good used parts laying around.

Shorter belt? Then how do you engage the water pump pulley without reversing direction?
When I searched , many posts said that the water pump only goes one direction or the water is not pumped through the system.
