Air Pump Disconnection
Hi
My FD yesterday gave a groaning grinding noise. Thought it was terminal engine failure at first but the engine was performing just fine with the outside temp at 45 celsius. The engine GReddy aftermarket temp gauge was showing 80 and didnt change. The engine power was fine.
The Airpump gave a groaning noise and I was advised to simply disconnect the air pump connector. The noise went away.
Can I run the car without doing anything else? No smog regulations or testing in PAkistan

Every car is a little different. If your still on the stock ECU, you could get some rough idle issues and hesitation on acceleration. If your running a stock cat, you run the risk of plugging it up prematurely. That doesn't seem to be as big of an issue on aftermarket hi-flow cats.
Again, your results may vary.

Wishin I Still Had The FD
I had the same problem. My air pump sounded awful, so I bought the Greddy pulleys and eliminated it altogether. I did have a problem with a rough idle. It was extremely annoying!!
