air pump and ACV removal

i am takin off my air pump and going with a strait pipe through my cat and resinator. I just replaced all the vacume lines and i am wondiering if i should go ahead and make a block off plate for the acv or not??? I will be running a pfc with a base map for a while seeing how i live in montana and there are no dynos. I am wondering if i will have idle problems also?

get the banzai block off place kit at www.banzairacing.com allows you the eliminate more than just the air pump and and acv. can't beat the price of $50

if you have a straight pipe that's not a base map anymore. that's considered a heavy mod, you're going to need to port your wastegates to maintain 10lbs, granted you'll have enough fuel because of the PFC but you're not going to be able to control your boost.

yea, you'll prolly have an idle issue considering you elminated all the back pressure with that mid pipe, you might be able to get it a little better through the PFC but....i wouldn't guarantee it.

With a PFC, removing the AP shouldn't affect idle. But agree with above, you should do some research on boost creep before removing the main cat for a mid-pipe. The PFC isn't an answer for that.

God this sucks damn this air pump ha anyway yeah i have looked at porting the waste gates but i could never figure out where the got the larger waste gate door?? i have searched through quite a few threads and just found a few good pics of the porting though. What other advantages are there to porting the waste gate? I just dont hear enough exhaust with the cat i have a three in down pipe and a apex dual n1 2.5 in its kinda weak came with the car.

how loud do you want the car to be? jeez

that kinda of loud attracts attention, especially the negative kind

i have a greddy Ti catback but both cats on and that's def enough for me, any louder and i'll nead to get a hearing aid later.

it shouldn't be a sound issue; it should be a power/reliability issue

porting the wastegates will allow you to MAINTAIN your boost to avoid boost creep, i'd rather just get a set of BNRs myself though. and you don't need a larger wastegate door

you do not replace the wastegate door, you increase the diameter of the oriface closer to the size of the wastegate door.
