I just have a very bad air leaking. I could hear a little hissing coming from the driver side during idle, but when I pop up the hood, I couldn't tell where it's coming from. The air leak gets very noticeable when I put the car in gear without hitting on the pedal, and louder when boost starts build up.

I've check all the check valves, IC couplers, and found nothing....any ideas?????

 

spray starting fluid or wd40 on the manifold joints to see if any are warped (car at idle , if there is a leak the motor will speed up) also spray hoses and any thing that could leak, do not start a fire

 

Yes, I understand, but I don't like the smell of wd40. I just want to narrow it down with the possibility. I had a feeling like it's around the manifold and throttle body, cause during idle I could hear a little hissing while inside the car. The leak took away half of my power....

Go to this thread, and look for the description on how to find a boost leak. If you have one, that will show you where it is.

 

oh yeah this is what I've done so far to the car along with few modes: efini y-pipe, silicone hose, apexi intake,3" straight pipe and catback,double throttle disable, pcv valve disable, boost gauge, hks twin power, and hks ssbov...

I notice the hissing leaking noise after I install the hks ssbov. The leak is so wierd, cause I could hear it without hitting on the pedal. I just pop the car in gear and air leak...

 

guys, I haven't found the leak yet. It's getting very annoying and worse. I can hear the leak better inside the car, right at the pedals, but I can't figure where it's coming from the engine bay with all that noise.... Anybody have similiar problem??????help!!!!!
