air fuel ratio/settings/reading

just installed a innovate wide band afr gge and lc1
on idle afr is 11.8 when on idle enrichment and settles to 12.0 when warm and on idle..car has 550 primary/1600 secondaries and is street ported..just wondering whether this could be leaned out a bit on idle as seems a bit rich.using apexi can u lean out the idle and cruise cells without leaning out the on boost area..(i wont be doing it i hasten to add just in case someone thinks i know what i am talking about)..i thought idle afr shd be around the 14.0 area or s this just for a piston car

My car idles at around 13.2-4 AFR's. That's about as lean as I can get my car and still have it idle somewhat smoothly. Yes, You can lean out the idle cells pretty easily using the commander since you will only be adjusting two cells.

Leaning out the cruise cells will be more difficult without a datalogit and a laptop. You might as well get one since you already sprung for the Wideband. My car cruises at 15-16.5 AFR's. Some guys are acutally leaner 16-17 AFR's during cruise.

my car reads 11.0 for afr. It idles really smooth, but im sure i should lean it out to around 12.0, lol.

You can lean out cruise area pretty effectively with the the PIM map adjustments, just lean out the vacuum areas. When I tune cruise with the datalogit I usually do coarse fuel adjustment across the entire p row in vacuum as the stock map is rich as hell anyway. Of course I do the finer adjustments by cell to get it to 16:1 or leaner but you can get well into the 15's with coarse adjustments. Once you get cruise leaned out you might find the car stumbling with throttle tip-in, richen up the accel settings and work with it for several days and you'll be fine without the datalogit.

Idle can be leaned out with the PIM map setting for 1000 rpm. I tried to keep my idle toasty and found that it needed to be tweaked occasionally to keep the idle smooth. If you don't like to mess with it much, just lean it out till it starts to get rough, put fuel back in till it smooths out, then add another two or three percent. IF it ever gets rough under different weather conditions just another percent or two till it smooths out. After awhile to learn where it likes to idle and cruise etc.
