Air Filters????
I'm going to making a cold air intake for my FD in the next few weeks. The problem I am having is what filter set-up to go with. I can either use 2 smaller filters similar to the Apex-i in size. Or I can use a single oval shape filter with two hole in the base. I am going to be making a cold air box or some kind of shield to block out the hot air.
I am just trying to think of advantages and disadvantages of going with one set-up over the other. Any suggestions???

well.. the apexi is supposed to be the best filter. with a dual filter setup, if one goes bad, you only have to replace one (less expensive). there's more filter surface area with a dual filter, but it's going to be more difficult to block them off (the cold air part) than a single filter.
a single filter will have less parts and be less compilcated. only one element to change instead of two. easier to block off from engine heat.
so, anyway.. there's some thoughts.

I would also go with the Apexi'. From all the tests I've seen, it has the best filtration.
If you're going to custom make a cold-air intake....maybe you might be able to mix and match some of the Apexi' intakes from other cars, the intakes for the FD don't leave much room for a wall or anything to block the heat....however, if you removed the airpump, I would think it would be easier....
