Ah! Weird noise after intake install.

Okay, I bought my car on Sat. and the guy had taken off the RE intake because it wouldnt pass smog with it on. I reinstalled it yesterday and now at about 1600 Rpm it makes this fairly mellow, hollow howl that lasts for a 200-500 rpms depending on how rev speed. There was some shadiness as to if it went on right seeing as how the only diagrams were in japanese but everything seemed to fit right up to stock so I dont think that its a setup issue.
Thanks

Thats totally normal air surge and purge after you get an aftermarket intake setup. You just didn't notice it before and now your getting the "I just did something wrong" syndrome. It's fine. If you want, hook up a boost gauge to test my theroy. But I'm telling you there is nothing wrong.

Okay, as long as everything is normal I am a happy camper, but I am just curious where is it coming from?
It sounds like the noise when you blow in a plastic tube... I am assuming it is coming from inside one if one of the many pipes that have air flowing through them but I am curious to know, if it is one of the plastic ones would an aftermarket SS pipe do the trick?
