That RE-A Smic looks nice as hell, next step should be to get a different intake so that the top of the ic core is exposed

Thanks.

I hear you and I actually sat back and thought about it for a second before purchasing. Then I realized that the godspeed SMIC is the same size as pettit's. So in order to get it to sit right, I had to buy the pettit's cold pipe that is designed to mate with the greddy elbow. Those two pieces are crucial and thus place the IC at the proper spot for the duct to mate properly. The only wild card was making the hot pipe but once the IC was placed it was rather easy.

but here's my home-made SMIC. the IC is the same size as the pettit cool charge iii kit, but my entire setup cost about 1/3 of the price.

i actually used a pettit cool charge iii duct. since my IC core was the same size. i modified the pettit duct to be a little longer, and also added a 12" switched e-fan, and heat shielding to the end tanks:

stock vs new
http://memimage.cardomain.com/member...9_200_full.jpg

modified the efini y-pipe to make it shorter, add a splitter, and rotate the flange 90degrees:
http://memimage.cardomain.com/ride_i...0243_large.jpg

made a pipe to connect the y-pipe to the IC:

added a 12" e-fan (used my fog light switch since i don't have fogs) and heat shielding:

extended duct:

this setup has worked well but now i really want to build a v-mount
How or where did you connect the fan? I need to install mine.

sorry for the chudtastic pictures. Here's my SMIC, some ancient PFS unit apparently. Fits with stock battery but doesn't use the stock shroud.

Hey I have the same one. Don't see these often. I built my own duct this summer for it.

As for the question about the re amemiya smic, i believe it is like the GReddy unit. you will need to modify the s pipe to fit, it should have just a single 90* bend.

Old school HKS fmic convert as a smic. Almost 4 time bigger core than OEM. Custom design with in and out on the upper end tank that work pretty well.

Thanks! Glad to hear that IC performed well with a single, I'm still on seq twins right now but I do have plan to go single in the future.

My Blitz SMIC with cheap bastard airbox and 99spec intake. With the Koyo N flow it's pretty tight but everything fits.

Oh wow that is nice... You're in Australia too. Where did you source the Blitz?
