does your antenna go up when you turn on the radio? otherwise, i don't know why you would get such crappy reception, unless the antenna lead from the radio is not plugged in properly.

....sorry i couldn't be of more help....

Wait minute, you use the radio? There aren't any good radio stations around here.....

Just grab some CD's and be on your way.

Hmm, will I know this isnt much help but I believe you have to get an adapter. Seems like the RX7 uses antenna lines thats different from every other car in the world so most aftermarket head units dont accept the antenna. I think its something like the antenna is male and should be female or female and should be male or something along those lines

Anyway, sorry i cant help you further but maybe that will lead you in the right direction

I don't know about FD's, when I installed an aftermarket head unit in my FC, I need to run a relay switch for the antenna, because Mazda used a negative signal to operate the power antenna, or some sh*t. I'm not really sure though.

u'll jsut need a simple adapter from radio shack. one of the antenna connections coeming form the car is for the external and one is for the internal antenna. Grab the adapter and plug it in. and thats that.

I ahve the bose system and it didnt' give me any trouble.

if you change the deck to non-bose and leave the rest of the system stock bose, usually you encounter some kind of reception problem.

That is what I found, too, when I installed a Nakamichi head unit. I made an adapter from an extention cable that I cut and installed another plug on. The power antenna control wire was no problem.
