Aftermarket Alarms.
Just got my FD.. been searching like a mad man. Question: i have a 94 touring model but i only got 1 key. If I wanted keyless entry what would i need? and what aftermarket alarms are you guys running? I'm not looking for remote start, was looking at the python 991

Alarms are an utter waste of time - all they do is remove ~$1k from your wallet and screw up the factory wiring. And FDs have a very low theft rate.

Quick General Consensus:
FD's wiring system makes it a pain to install an aftermarket alarm without screwing up the factory alarm/ignition system.
Keyless entry is an even bigger pain because the locking mechanisms are very fragile and break when using aftermarket servos to make them open

"An utter waste of time" seems to be a bit too strong a sentiment.

Alarms may deter theft by casual clueless kids - but a hidden $5 kill switch will do just as well with this type of thief. And a crack head will simply ignore the noise from an alarm (as will everyone else in the neighborhood).
The best solution (short of keeping the car garaged) is to get a low insurance deductible. It will be a fraction of the cost of an alarm.

This may be because there are so few FDs to steal....
I do like having mine in there, have no idea what brand it is, all I know is it sets itself after a minute of closing the doors regardless of them being locked or not. To know that my old girl is being at least looked after a little helps. Besides the alarm is more for me to hear it. I try very hard to not leave the scooter parked outside for any reason overnight that is what the Camry is for.
Go get yourself one! Spend 500 bucks on something that at least gets you a heads up to me is well worth it. You spend 500 dollars on things far less important with these cars.

Em, you need to look up the definition of the word rate.
I used to own an Integra Type-R, which were produced in tiny numbers (< 4k in the US). On the Type-R board I used to hang out on there was about one theft report per week. In the 7 years I have been on this board I have seen less than a handful of FD theft reports.
Many Type-R owners practically became experts on alarm technology, frequently spending $2k-$3k on alarm systems (with LoJacks etc.).
It became pretty clear after a year or so that the presence of an alarm had essentially no effect. In fact, it seemed that the cars with the most expensive alarms were more likely to get stolen (most likely a reflection of the fact that cars with such alarms were owned by people who had to park their cars in exposed areas). The only reliable way of preventing theft seemed to be to garage the car.
Alarms give people the warm fuzzies because there is the perception that they offer some protection. The reality is that they offer next to none.
For $500 I could get 10 bottles of a good Barolo - for me, that would be a much better way of getting the warm fuzzies!

Alarms do little for preventing real theft. They keep honest people honest and criminals could care less about them. That being said, I like having one just to unlock my door because I'm lazy. I don't really count on it stopping a "real" car jacker. That's why I have great insurance and a low deductible.
However, it also doesn't hurt having three Piezo sirens mounted under the dash. Three 140db sirens blazing a high pitch squeal in anyone's hear is enough for them to bail. Literally, your ears will start bleeding in about 7 seconds.
But to not get an alarm because you don't think it will stop anyone is a little foolish...it's like saying your shouldn't lock your doors at night because a real thief will break in through your window
