Aftermarket airfilters ruin Air pump

I've read a Mazda TSB on the web that aftermarket air filters can cause the air pumps to fail on the FD3's. Does this mean my K&N will cause problems? Anyboyd heard of this?

im sure many others have gone a hella more wild with their intake systems without any troubles.

I'm pretty sure it is hot air that supposedly ruins airpumps, so if you have an airbox-style intake, or a K&N drop in, you're likely fine.
