AEM 30-1800 on a jdm rx7 fd3s

ok as title says, who know of a patch harness or who has done this already can maybe guide me in the right direction.

I have a 1993 jdm rx7 fd3s and just bought a usdm AEM. what are the wires that need to change pin outs etc etc..

Can't be that much different, it's my understanding that the jdm power fc just hooks right up to the usdm rx7? or am i wrong?

they're the same, only real difference is that the USDM has a few additional emissions components like the accelerated warmup system.

You might want to check with Auto Sport Wiring. They have a patch harness for the FD:
http://www.autosportwiring.com/mazda.htm
That way you won't have to hack into your ECU harness.

arghx: so you are saying it won't effect anything else it should be just plug and play?

godsquad: yes I did check them out, already send them a email, will probably buy a harness so I don't have to hack into my stock harness

anyone with firsthand experience?

or anyone with a jdm pin out??

I'll put it to you this way. Most modified FD's are running a Power FC which is plug-and-play. The Power FC was never designed for a USDM harness, only JDM. When you install a Power FC you cut a few wires that have to do with emissions systems (Accelerated warmup, EGR) and everything else is the same.

Simon, the harness and ECU are pretty identical except for a few wires (4 emissions control wires).

The only problem is if your FD is 99 or new when it was changed to a 16bit ECU IIRC

The AEM will plug in and work, it doesnt care, at all, about any of the emmissions stuff the US car has, and will not care, at all, that the JDM car does not have it.

If you need help, feel free to send me your cars pertinent mods (sensors, injectors, fuel pressure, etc, but not coil overs or window tint lol) and I will send you a cal file that should run the car and can help some with minor tweaking as well.
