when the stang guys say they have pullies i always took it to mean they re-pullied the charger and did all the supporting mods for the boost increase... not just an under driven alt...

Yeah we are going to first scout before we even stomp on it.

Tommorrow is a holiday and so we will try it monday. I'll see if I can scrounge a camera in the mean time.

that cobra sounds stock.

I beat a cobra running 17psi and exhuast/intake with a diablo chip or somthing. It was close we went from 40 and he got me right at the start but by mid 3rd gear i passed him and just kept pulling to 140ish. It was fast though, It was kinda weird to hear his supercharge whine over my turbos lol.

someone else said it already but you'd be better off not racing from a roll. mustangs spin the wheels a lot and 7s launch decently. By the end its going to be the same result anyway but this might make it not so bad.

you're going to get absolutely smoked

the only way you would even have a chance is full exhaust, big IC, and Pettit ECU

sounds like a tough matchup. Newer Cobras are fast cars, and respond very well to mods. Good luck, hope he sucks at driving!

HA!

To all of that said I would get creamed: HA!

We just got done- could not do it from a stop; traffic everywhere (at the lights) so we went from about a 15 mph roll (the street is kinda like a highway, so unless you get the light you're screwed). Of course he won but damn I representented!

He didn't past me till 80 mph!!! Even he said damn your car is quick! I was a half car ahead for most of the race, but let me tell you guys: Once he past me it was all over... that 3rd gear of his is a KILLER. It's so strong that he just pulls as if am not accelerating.

I'll post the details in the kills section later.

i finaly got him by 4 cars, but sold my car, i heard the new owner of my car raced the stang again after he got pullies and lost by 4 cars *sigh*

wow way to ask me the person racing that stang, I would say since I was driving the car, 2 cars at the most but you know how he races just go till you let off no finish line, he claims 453 WHP it was a clean race i could have launched a little bit bit harder either way every gear he pulled a little bit farther

I wasn't aware Cobra's ran 10's with just exhaust and intake, err and pullies : ). Also are we talking about the brand new Cobras or the previous model, I seem to recall there being a huge difference.
Ummm, yeah first of all he lost by 4 cars.

2nd he is a shitty driver because the car is new to him

3rd the FD runs 10lbs of boost right now.

4th it has stock tire size.

5th my car WASN'T set up poorly, if you want to start to asume **** go talk **** to someone else.

6th the car is running on STOCK TWINS!!!!

the FD is a LOW 12 second car right now...

all he needs is a single turbo to run mid to lower 10s i knew exactly what the **** i was doing and i get VERY angered when people seem to think that im a moron.

all that cobra has done is intake catback pullies and a programer, he ran a 12.3 while burning through 2 gears.

must be that thing they call torque

Nice race though, way to represent I would have thought your whp would have been higher than 260 but whatever.

Now just get a new ecu and smoke him!

The 260 RWHP is just an estimate based on my mods

supercharge stang wheel spin

Yea I own a 94 R2 and attend the street races a couple of times. When I see a supercharge stang against a turbocharged civic hatch its so funny because the stang would definitely get spanked by a 4 banger civic. The stang would just stay in one spot spinning his tire for awhile while the civic would just launch the f**ck and kick the stangs a**. So If a MOd FD can launch ok you will beat him dude and take advantage of our high rev while he has to shift after his wheel spin stops. So my point is race him from a stop and you will surely win. From a roll might be a different story. Good luck

Man those things are heavy! Guess they do need to put down a ton of power to get moving!
Montego,
Just get a computer, raise the boost!

So the car has a partial bridgeport with stock turbos running 10psi on stock tires? You said the car wasn't set up poorly so is it safe to assume it's been changed since then? Any idea what MPH the cobra ran that 12.3 on? Just curious. In the 12 second range an 8 car difference is approaching almost a full second ET difference. A ball park rule to follow is that a car length is worth about a .1 seconds when cars are running 12ish ET's.

Kevin T. Wyum

P.S. As an afterthought why is the FD only running 10psi? Are you saying he has a stock computer with a partial bridgeport?

If any of you rag on the supercharged cobras, come to Detroit for a few weeks and go to the races with me. Those cars are bad with basic bolt-on's and they can hook when driven correctly. I've raced I think three and beat them all though. They are fast!
