I am looking to shod my red FD3S with gold Advan GT. I am not too sure but I reckon it should look good.
Question is what specs should I be looking at without rolling the fenders and doing some crazy cambers.
The car is running on AP Racing Pro5000R Radi-CAL (AP9660) 6 pot calipers with AP Racing Slotted 355mm rotor. I reckon the Advan GT should clear it?

Advan GT's are one of the more friendlier BBK wheels out there. The offset does not dictate the BBK fitment though so whichever vendor you choose, have them run the AP kit/template by them for further confirmation but it should be ok. The only issue is the face concavity, that will dictate the caliper clearance really but monoblock designs are usually good
Anyone have a preferred place to buy Advan GT wheels in the U.S.? So far, Fitment Industries seems to have better prices, but wondering if anyone else has suggestions or a reason not to deal with Fitment Industries. I'm getting the 18x9.5 +45 as a square setup.

For preferred places to import wheels, I bought my OG TE37s through RavSpec (not sure if they're around anymore?), but I have had nothing but great outcomes through Evasive Motorsports.
Looks like they have your desired size too
EDIT - on reread you said you were looking for gold specifically. Evasive also doesn't carry gold, but they may be able to special order them for you or pay extra if Advan lets you customize finish like Volk used to
Funny how these wheels are coming back into style. I found myself trying to find an economical 17" Advan set (RG / RS / RZ) to go 255 / 180TW all around for street and practice laps (vs A048's all the time), and somehow kept landing on 18" superwide GT's as a second set...
I am loving the resurgence, but it's not like something this good looking can go out of style!

For a wheel that cost that much, I'd shop around. I usually do my comparisons between Vivid Racing, Evasive Motorsports, Fitment Industries, Nengun and RHD Japan so to see what's the most cost effective. And CALL BEFORE YOU ORDER!! Don't wna spend all that money just to find out the wheel is back ordered through next summer.
Vivid also offers a decent service and excellent advice to contact retailers to confirm production / availability and an estimated delivery timeframe.
I've almost exclusively used their wheels for years and most recently picked up their 'R6' in 18x11 from evasive last year. Excellent turnaround time despite the shipping fiasco imo. And from what I remember, a production run of at minimum 10 sets is required for custom colors / sizing, etc (might be as high as 30 today).
Oh and good taste never goes out of style. I wish I kept my gold 17x9.5 TC2's like from the O-OG FEED car
It should come as no surprise to anyone that there is quite the backorder for these wheels. I was quoted up to 9-10 months. rhdhjapan and negun are cheaper, per wheel, but you'd have to factor shipping, duty, and any applicable taxes local to you. I usually prefer dealing with State-side dealers, but I had a good experience with rhdjapan before on a similarly-priced order.
Unless you're prepared to spend $6 and up (and up) on custom forged wheels (i.e.: CCW, etc.), Japanese wheels from Advan, Weds, etc. are the best way to get quality forges wheels.

Japan outsources a lot of parts to other countries. Taiwan can offer pretty high quality and even if a country has a reputation for high quality it doesn’t mean you can’t get low quality from there too. China has a reputation for low quality, but you can also get pretty high quality from there with the appropriate QC practices in place. It really comes down to oversight and control from the start of the materials and process through to what’s allowed to go out the door.
