So the time of a "cycle". Even with that big of a drop, you're not hurting anything and it won't cause any issue.

Put something in front of the second cooler next time you drive to block the air flow and see how your temps respond.

Having the thermostat cycle is perfectly fine, it's just doing its job and with a drop in temps like that its definitely doing its job well.
Thanks. It's pretty quick. Like 30 or so seconds to go from 190 to 162. That's not really pushing the car. So if I do get on it I now can feel confident that the temps will be kept in check.

Yea thats super fast. Definitely going to want to see what it does under performance conditions. It's very much effective for the street. With such a rapid drop its likely going to do very well.

What would be a high temp I should start to be concerned about even though it will most likely not get there. More so for my own knowledge.

Well.... that will be based on the weight oil you use and the relation to water temp. It can go deep but your oil and water temp move with each other. I can't say an exact number or even a range because it's relative but for my 1j car I don't like to see 2xxF at all. It's not overheating or anything is wrong but I just don't like seeing the temp that high.

Before I added a second oil cooler to that car, on the highway with the ac on i would see ~205F. The second cooler keeps the temps in the 180s now.

You'll need to look at the specs sheets for the oil you're using and see what its "optimal" temps are. That will give you your parameters for what you dont want to see at least, then you will look at how that relates to your water temp under real world circumstances.

I'm having a hard time explaining 😅😅 but really you want to do a run and see what happens first. You may not even see 2xxF or if you do it won't be for very long. checking with people who see track time would be best to ask. @Valkyrie would be a good person to ask for what temps he's seeing if he's monitoring them.
