I know it is the air control valve, i know where it is located, i know what it looks like but what the hell does it do? I beleive it is for emission but does it have anything to do with the air pump?
how does it work?

The airpump sends it air. It sends it to one of three palces: the main cat, the exhaust manifold, or back to the airbox or open air depending on your intake (can you say moo).

yes, it has something to do to the airpump. If you look at it, the airpump takes air and brings it into the LIM. Then it puts that air into the ACV. I'm not sure what the ACV uses to turn on/off, but it takes air and puts it into the catalytic converter. Something like that anyways...I had them apart awhile ago and figured out exactly what went where and why...but it's been awhile...

ok but why is there a hole in the intake manifold where the acv is bolted?
does it send air in the intake?
or is the this thing just some sort of actuator?
man i am confused...
