ACV operation at idle?

Does anyone know what exactly the ACV and it's relief valves are up to during idle?

Simply put; where does the air from the air pump go during idle?

off the top of my head, it goes to the LIM...then at some point get routed into main cat...

search for secondary air injection.

I could have it backwards...
