ACT street question...
I got an ACT street/ strip clutch put in about 5000 miles ago. i did the whole 1000 mile breakin period and everything.
the thing is, for some reason i couldve sworn the stock clutch grabbed harder. like during normal driving conditions, the ACT grabs so soft, you start to think that its wearing out... but under heavy load, it grabs fine.
anyone else get this in thier car? oh and by the way, could a 9.5 flywheel be causing this "soft" feeling? Anyway, in a way im not very satisfied with the ACT street. Dont get me wrong, it does its job...but it just doesnt have the grabbing power i expected from it. Id probably go with the 6 puck if i could do it all over again...

i am not sure as to what you mean by grabbing soft, and grabbing hard. i got an ACT street/strip and a 9.5 pounds flywheel around 3000 miles ago, and it works perfectly for me.
with a lighter flywheel, its much easier for a driver to notice rev mismatches, and perhaps that is what is making you believe that it doesnt grab so hard. do you double clutch when you downshift? if so, do you tap the throttle on neutral to far up? that could be a cause of the soft feel.

I was thinking the exact same thing about mine. I bought the street/strip clutch with a 9.5lb flywheel. It was grabby as hell when I first put it in, then it felt about like stock, and now with maybe 6k miles on it I was thinking it was starting to feel worn out. Like yours, it still doesn't slip, but when first engaging it just feels weak. I thought maybe I just toasted it doing sloppy downshifts on my last track day.

I have that clutch with about 5-6 k on it. I did not do the flywheel. The first disc I got was defective and went in 3 weeks. The pressure plate makes it feel much tighter than stock. It seems to grab very well. I do notice that cars with the light flywheels tend to need to slip the clutch much more due to the fact its lighter and doesnt transfer torque as well. (will bog the motor when clutch engaged). I also tend to get used to a new clutch fairly quick and then I think its become weak.
