i believe the fan settings were adjusted (will call demetrios tonight and see if i'm right)
the thermosensor... is that the same as the t-stat? if it is, its only 3 months old.

turning on my A/C activates the fans on high right? what else can i do to do that aside from the fan mods?

memmi: That's just heat soak after shutdown, it's completely normal.

pugg57: No, the thermosensor is certainly not the same thing as the t-stat. Since your changing your coolant with the Koyo install, I would just get a new Mazda t-stat at the same time. You should not be seeing 104C if your fans are set to come on at around 90C or so (which most do), unless you are running the A/C in hot weather or going up a long steep incline at speed.

i figured out what the issue is... one of my fans is dead... will i need to replace the whole fan assembly or just a motor? the fuse is fine and i can't get in to look at the wiring till tomorrow... might be best to just replace the whole thing since the rad is getting done too.

speaking of oil temp levels. . . where is the ideal mount for the oil temp sending unit? i was thinking about drilling a hole in the banjo bolt for the upper oil cooler line at the oil filter pedistal and tapping it to fit. i, honestly, dont know the direction while sitting at my laptop. haha. is that place a bad idea? im sure itll seal fine. just wanna know if itll be the temps that everyone else is seeing. haha. should i measuer after the engine or prior to the engine?

Paul, that is a good place, right after the cooler(s). If you want an even neater install, you can get a Greddy oil filter block adapter, which comes with two fittings (for oil temp/pressure). The only negative is cost and increased difficult of oil changes.

grr... well, i jiggled a few wires and now the fan is running just fine... think its just a loose connection... i'll have 'em take a look for that Monday when the rad goes in. till then, baby it, and watch the temps.

thanks, rynberg!!! i really dont care to go buying things that cause more likelyhood for leakage. haha, so ill probably just do it the way i mentioned. one pipethreaded hole should work better than some o-rings thatll fail over time. haha.

got the fan working, drove it for a while in the terrible heat again today, didn't go past 96C even with the A/C on!
