AC question
I was wondering if the 3rd gen cars have a low pressure switch somewhere in the system?
Reason I ask is I am running a 3rd gen ac compressor in my FC, but there appears to be a low pressure switch piggy backed onto the compressor itself where a FC system has a pressure switch by the dryer, its a small round piece with 2 wires on it, they are spade connectors.
My thinking is you 3rd gen guys do not have one of those switches on your hard lines?
thanks for your help
the switch I am talking about is the blue plug, the power lead goes to that and then there is a short plug going to the compressor, where a FC compressor has a single wire that gets the power.

The switch on the top of the compressor is NOT a pressure switch. It is a temperature switch to prevent the compressor from overheating.
3rd gen cars have a single pressure switch on one of the high pressure lines near the dryer/condenser area. The switch will shut off the compressor for both HIGH and LOW pressure conditions.
Both the pressure and temperature switches should be in series with the compressor clutch to protect the compressor from damage.
