ac dryer without ac cooling?
I'd like to remove my ps and ac, but occasionally i get stuck in the rain and like being able to "defog" the air. Which part of the ac system actually removes the moisture from the air, and can that part work without the cooling system? My terminology is probably all over the place, so if anybody knows please correct me...

You can't get defogging without first cooling the air to remove moisture. You need the AC for this.

The dryer is sealed within the AC System...No air enters or leaves it the dryer keeps moisture that could be in the system out of the areas where moisture can be detrimental. Moisture is removed from inside the vehicle---think of a glass of water...Room temp no condensation forms....Put Ice in it and the water in the air collects on the side (condensates) on the glass...This is how your AC system work in a way...The compressor compresses the freon inside the sytem to make the condensor cold(this is the part inside the car) and air blows across it...The moisture in the air collects on the condensor and is drip to outside(puddle of water under car)...Hope this helps..

The entire AC system is what takes the moisture out of the air. It's all or nothing with the AC, the only air that will be coming through the vents will be outside air or heated air, once you remove it. You can spray some anti-fog and open your windows a crack to clear the fog, otherwise you are SOL.
