Brake lines will need some custom work to correct for LHS/RHS steering, but main line to rear is in two parts, probable for this very reason:
rear brakes front line: FD01-45-36XA, ('95: FD31-45-36XA)
pipe joint: FD-45-36ZA, ('95: D001-45-367)
rear center section: FD01-45-360B; may be able to use a 2nd one of these to modify to 4-Ch
hard line to LHS wheel: FD01-43-670B
hard line to RHS wheel: FD01-43-680B
(should be able to use orgs of L/R hard lines, with replacment of distribution joint to pipe joint)

Wiring harness ??, I know the part number will be different; as to the plug assembly for the ABS? Only real way to tell will be to look at the electrical guides and see if the plug assembly is different. I have not even looked between the 94 and 95 styles to see if plug changed.

And a change of subject, but what is a cooling fan relay doing in the back of the car next to the ABS control box? I thought all were on RHS fender.

PS: of more interest to me than even the 3-Ch to 4-Ch upgrade is the faster processing available with the '01-'02 model. And yes I would love to get an '02 parts car and rebuild my '94 into a Spirit R

Hey Julian and Rob...you guys wanna push this and make it happen? Cuz I'm on board if you guys are... ;)

~Ramy

PS: Julian, I can get the vast majority of the Spirit R parts if you're seriously interested. I'm essentially picking the parts I like/want and grabbin 'em for my FD already ;)

This is certainly feasible. I would like a little more information on the wiring if possible.

Ramy,

I have a strong interest .. but other priorities are in my budget right now.

FDNewbie 07-03-06 11:18 PM

I hear you Julian. So many things, so little time/money lol.

Yeah, I am getting married (again) this weekend, moving, supporting my son and mines road racing; the list goes on

FDNewbie 07-04-06 06:48 PM

Whew...just reading that made me feel tired hehe. Best of luck man :)

Ok guys I'm seriously considering doing this because I have someone local who has stripped his Series 8 and is selling the 99 Spec brake setup for dirt cheap ~$400 AUS.

I just need to confirm what I need to gather when I purchase it on the weekend as everything on the car is stripped and the parts are lying randomly around.

Master Cylinder
Hydraulic Pump + Relays
ABS ECU or Control Unit
Front Rear Rotors
Front Rear Calipers
Wheel Sensors
Am I missing anything?

I don't have to worry about redoing the brake lines as my car is already RHD?

Bringing back from the dead.

Has anybody made the jump to the Series 8 ABS system??

billyboy 02-07-09 03:18 AM

95 AU delivered car has been given V5 ABS and 16bit upgrade (apparently because of non-availability of the local engine harness anymore!)

Main concern would be the harness compatibility and LH to RHD issues, have the harness numbers if required.
