99 spec - Series 8 suspension

I'm about to take delivery of my 2002 RX7 and need to know if the shocks are the same as those found on earlier versions. The reason for this is I'm about to order Tein springs but I'm not sure if the shock design was changed in this later version. If anyone has fitted a set of Tein S Tech to standard 99+ shocks without issue I would like to know about it! Thanks

If its an RB model then yes the suspensions are the same as the Series 6 & 7. If its an RS or RZ or Spirit R model it will come with Bilsteins.

Have you considered Eibach springs? Stock suspension with these springs are a very good combination. Alot of people on this forum have run this setup to great effect.

Be careful with spring rates as well as if you get this wrong the ride will be very uncomfortable, as in my case at the moment with my coilovers.

Im running Koni Adjustables with Eibach Springs, and im pleased with the handling of the car.

thatd be my choice for suspension.
