99 Spec Factory Water temp gauge

Hello

Just wanted some confirmation, for those with OEM '99 spec clusters (or cars) ---

Do the water temp gauges work properly on these? Like, 100% Properly? Like, it actually starts rising as it begins to get hot rather than after coolant is gushing into the chamber from a burst seal?

I've been told it is, but want a second opinion...

Stock one never moves once at temp that I've noticed. Last year i had my car near 250 and the USDM cluster gauge was still pretty much where it always was. The 02 cluster i have now appears to behave the same but my temps are much more in check this year.

My 02 cluster coolant gauge behaves the same as my oem 95 gauge. That said, I rarely pay attention to it. I mostly check my aftermarket gauge
