Exclamation 99 Spec Carbon Fiber Lip: Gathering Interest

Hey Guys,

Shineautoproject, one of the vendors on this forum is actually considering doing this. They are a very reputable shop and I know a lot of people on this forum have been following their progress with their replica's of basically anything that's high in demand.

I talked to Ken from Shineautoproject and he said it's a very good possibility he could make a 99 spec CF lip if there is enough interest.

Here's the link to that thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...09#post5745009

If it seems like a profitable venture (which judging from the multiple threads and people requesting this part it is) to him, I'm sure he'll undertake it.

PLEASE if you want this part be active and let him know. Post in the thread that you're interested so we can make this happen. Thanks.

Riz

A LOT of people, including myself can vouch for the quality of their work so that shouldn't even be an issue. In fact, I would say most of their replica's actually fit better than the originals, especially the burnout kit .

Cool. The thing is the way Shineautoproject from what I understand works is that they wait for interest in a particulat kit/part and once enough is gathered they'll take deposits and begin the work. Slightly lenghty of a process, but DEFINITELY, speaking from experience, worth the extra wait.

If anyone else is interested please post in the link to the thread I posted in my original post above. Thanks. I really hope this ends up working out, I've been wanting a high quality 99 spec carbon fiber lip since forever without the rediculous Mazdaspeed price tag of $650.00-700.00.

Honestly, I would say either be VERY careful or do as I intend on doing and use this for shows. I currently have a 99 spec lip on my car, which has definitely taken some beatings so I wouldn't recommend using it for daily driving, but if your careful it doesn't really matter. I know plenty of people including myself have CF sideskirts and CF rear diffusors. All it takes is some careful driving and you should be fine.

^ If you have to ask that question I don't think this parts for you. I really don't think the CF lip offers any advantages over the factory 99 spec lip. The factory lip is already very light so I don't think weight reduction fits in anywhere. To be honest, I would say its more of an appearance modification. I want this piece because it will flow with the rest of the CF pieces I have on the car (sideskirts, diffusor, hood, rear spoiler insert, and rear bumper guard ).

the advantage is you'll break it in the first day of installing it and cry that you spent like 4 bills on it

I don't understand why theres all the need to hate. If you don't want it don't buy it. Simple as that. I think anyone purchasing this product is smart enough to realize the fragile nature of it, so there's really no need for comments like the one quoted above.

For everyone else interested and I KNOW there are a lot of us, just post in the aforementioned link and we should all be happy in the near future with our CF lip.
