Overheating FD, Waterpump pulley
Right, where to start, the car used to be fine, no overheating problems at all, over the festive period the car was stood for a while, so when ive come to driving it again, i fitted a new waterpump belts and did a full service. I also changed the radiator and thermostat. At this point i had been given a set of aftermarket watepump and alternator pulleys off of ebay. I noticed that both of the pulleys were bigger than std, but anyhow i found a belt that was slightly longer and it all fitted and tensioned up perfectly.
The car then started to overheat about two minutes after starting it from cold, and it would boil itself very rapidly. After a lot of thought as nearly everything on the cooling system was new i decided to swap back to the std smaller pulleys, and now the car seems fine and does not overheat.
Has anyone else had similar problems when changing the pulleys? Should the replacement alloy pulleys be the same size as the stock ones, if so i think i may have been sent the incorrect set.
thanks for any help guys.
