99 lip retrofit

just a quick question to you guys who have fit the 99 lip to your stock fd (non 99+) bumper...

when you drill the extra holes to fit it to your stock bumper, are they placed in such a way that you can still use the lip with a real 99 bumper when the time comes that you can afford the whole thing? or does it become a pre-99 fd only part?

thanks in advance.

You shouldn't have to drill any holes, just remove two locating tab's that stick up.

You will also have to line up and drill a couple holes in the spoiler. However, the good thing is that there are no modifications necessary for the bumper.

I drilled a couple holes. everything along the front lines up fine, but i needed an extra hole on each side. It should't affect mounting on a real 99 nose. You do have to remove a couple tabs, but it should be fine.

It should have no problem bolting to a 99 bumper. Since we drilled holes for it to fit 93-95 bumpers, they will only be holes and not noticable, all the holes are there already for the 99.

I think I drilled two additional holes (on the outer ends,
where the lip meets the front of the wheel wells).
If I recall correctly, I believe I also had to cut off a couple
of the tabs with my Dremel...
Asides from that it is a pretty easy install. You just have
to line it a couple of times to make sure you have it
right. It does look sweet and I get compliments on it all
the time

Good Luck!

Its a fairly easy instal. You just have to make a choice: it a little deeper then the 93-95, so you'll have to decide wether it hangs aout a bit in front (around the brake duct area where the shape isn't perfect) of hang into the wheel well a bit. the latter is probably better.
